Expanded metal is one continuous single sheet of steel mesh produced when a flat metal plate is sheared and stretched but is left intact at the “knuckles”. It is available in a variety of thicknesses with differing sizes and designs of the apertures. As there are no welds or joins it operates as a structural member that distributes loads evenly over a wide area. The high strength to weight ratio makes it suitable for many industrial and ornamental applications.
A further feature is the provision of an excellent anti slip surface. This makes the product suitable for ramps, platforms and stair treads. The open nature of the product provides good visibility through the mesh as well as the easy passage of air and sound whilst ensuring security and protection.

Handrails
Our modular handrail system is both versatile, cost effective and efficient. Handrails are galvanised or powder coated steel ensuring long lasting and corrosion resistant finish. They can be used for hand railing, safety guards, balustrades and barriers. The Interclamp systems provides a ‘no weld’ alternative to more traditional methods making it faster to install with minimal tools required. There are a number of fitting available to suit the modular system which will ensure your project finish.
For more demanding applications, a GRP range of steel is available which is suitable for UV resistance, non-sparking and able to cope with a wide range of chemicals. This range will also benefit as it has low electrical conductivity, is fire resistant and ‘cold to the touch’ in extreme temperatures. It comes in safety yellow or grey or no need for painting or coating.
